和平唱诵 Peace Mantra

This is a peace Mantra from Katha upnishad, and in India while studying yoga before and after the class, we chanted this mantra, this mantra is related with teacher (Guru) and student (shishya).
            这是出自<卡塔奥义书>的一曲和平唱诵. 在印度,每次课前课后,我们都会吟唱这首关于师长与学生的唱诵.

 

 

                       Om Sahana Bhavatu, Sahanao Bhunaktu

                            Sahaveeryam Karvaa vahai

                    Tejaswee Naava Dheeta Mastu Ma Vidvishaa vahai

                             Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

 

Word-by-word meaning:
字面译义:

 Saha- both 两者,都; nau-us 我们; avatu- may he protect祈祷他保佑; bhunaktu-may he nourish祈祷他滋养; viryam

karavavahai-may we acquire the capacity祈祷我们得到能力; tejasvi-be brilliant出色的; nau-for us为我们; adhitam- what

is studied所学;astu-let it be顺其自然; ma vidvisavahai-may we not argue with each other祈祷.我们不要争吵

 Translation :

 May He protect both of us. May He nourish both of us. May we both acquire the capacity (to study and understand the scriptures). May our study be brilliant. May we not argue with each other. Om peace, peace, peace.

译文:

祈祷他(神灵)保护我们(老师和学生).祈祷他滋养我们.祈祷我们得到这种(学习理解经文的)能力. 祈祷我们的学习灿烂卓越.祈祷我们不要相互争吵. OM,和平,和平,和平.

Brief explanation :

At the beginning of a class, the teacher and students generally recite this peace

invocation together. Both seek the Lord’s blessings for study that is free of obstacles,

such as poor memory, or the inability to concentrate or poor health. They also seek

blessings for a conducive relationship, without which communication of any subject

matter is difficult. Therefore, this prayer is important for both the teacher and the

student.
